Aerofab Company was founded in 1951. We are a family owned and operated company that specializes in nonmetallic parts for the defense industry. We moved from Detroit to our current Ferndale Michigan facility in 1962. Our manufacturing began making crash pads for the Cleveland Tank Plant and Tacom. Currently 99% of our business is for the defense industry.
Aerofab has continued to produce military items utilizing cellular products that produce seals and personnel protection pads. We also product a variety of dense rubber in both silicone and organic rubber compounds. One notable design features that we are responsible for was the process of encasing cellular rubber in a dense rubber skin. This feature protected the cellular rubber from abrasion and extended the life of the seal greatly. This system is now used on many seals used in the ordnance system.
Production is completed at our facility, thus ensuring consistency, on time service and customer satisfaction. Quality Control is our first priority. With the manufacturing completed at our facility we can deliver products consistently to our customers specifications. Our facility is approximately 28,000 square feet and we currently employ a staff of 38 people.
